Save Stillwell Woods Preserve! Nassau County plans to transfer the park to the Town of Oyster Bay without protections for its forest, native wildflower meadows, and scenic trails.

Please sign the “Save Our Stillwell Woods Preserve” Petition, which specifies demands to codify critical safeguards before Stillwell is transferred. https://chng.it/LcJkzDwfK5

What is at Stake;

Stillwell Woods Preserve is a 270-acre preserve that encompasses both oak barrens and old field communities, supporting a rich variety of wildlife including rare damselflies, moths and butterflies, as well as numerous migratory and breeding bird species. Beyond its biodiversity value, Stillwell Woods sits atop a special groundwater protection area, making it crucial for Long Island's water supply. The preserve connects to Trail View State Park, providing essential wildlife corridors that maintain the ecological integrity of the region's increasingly fragmented natural communities.
