Suffolk Trails on 10/10 @ 6:30pm

Join Bruce for an evening exploring two wonderful trail opportunities waiting you in Suffolk County.

Part I – In progress N. Shore Rails Trail (work to begin by fall): Bruce opened his grade 5 class to an extensive bicycle safety program after his ten-year-old student was run over but not killed, crossing Rte. 25A in Miller Place while riding his bicycle to school.  Since then Bruce joined a small grassroots group in the early 1990s and worked on a proposed 10-mile pedestrian/bike path along an abandoned railroad corridor connecting six communities from Port Jefferson to Wading River.

Part II - The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Recreation Path:  Referred to as “The Jewel of the E. End” this 9.2-mile paved loop located at The EPCAL Enterprise Property in Calverton has become the most popular park in Riverhead Town.
